Policies & Procedures

Central Valley Homeschool Co-op is committed to providing a fun, safe, educationally and spiritually rewarding experience for local homeschool families.

Parents Must:

  • Agree with the co-op Statement of Faith and Mission and Philosophy statement.
  • They must understand that all classes will be taught with a biblical worldview. Understanding the interdenominational status of the co-op and that there are varying doctrinal positions, all teachers agree to use faith-based material that does not contradict the statement of faith. If using secular material, the material needs to be free of contradicting statements and conclusions that conflict with the statement of faith.
  • Attend any required membership meetings each session.
  • Stay on-site for the entire co-op day and at all events with their children. In the event a parent must miss co-op or an event, they are able to assign another adult to be responsible for their children in their absence. A temporary guardianship form must be filled out and given to a board member.
  • Serve within the co-op: be willing to serve in regular volunteer and substitute assignments as needed between 8:45am and 1:30pm on co-op days in any combination of roles that will contribute to the overall functionality of the co-op. These may include teaching, assisting, set-up, clean-up, and/or substituting in any of these positions as assigned by the absence coordinator.
  • Commit to filling their volunteer duties for the duration of the co-op term.
  • Prioritize co-op attendance. When planning vacations and outside commitments, members will take into consideration the co-op session dates and make every effort to plan around them. Missing 2 or more co-op days unrelated to illness in a session may result in a conversation with a board member to see if it is a good fit for their family at this time and may be placed on the waitlist for the following session.
If a parent is absent due to circumstances other than illness, they may choose to send their children to co-op with another adult (i.e. Grandma, other parent). If that non-member takes on the volunteer duties of the absent parent then it will not count towards non-illness related absences.
  • Return all required forms and fees in a timely manner.
  • Attend chapel during our co-op day.
  • Behave in a Christ-like manner and treat fellow parents, students and the facility with care and respect.
  • Deal with conflict in a biblical manner (Matthew 18:15-17, Leviticus 19:17-18, James 1:19-20).
  • If a child gets hurt while at co-op, families will not hold host churches or CVHSC liable for injuries.
  • By participating in the co-op, parents assume full responsibility for the health of themselves and their children, and will not hold CVHSC or host churches liable for any illnesses they may have been exposed to during their time at co-op.
