Special Needs Families

Being a special needs family can be isolating…not only for the parent, but for the child as well. Our co-op was founded by a parent with a special needs child who has felt that isolation first-hand and wanted to create a community for her family where they could relax and have less expectations; while also connecting with others who are on the same journey.

We want each family to enjoy their time at co-op, and do our best to accommodate each unique need.

When you are a parent of a special needs child, we know it can be overwhelming for you and your child at times, and we don’t want co-op to be something that is stressful for your family.

If you need to be your child’s one-on-one aide due to their disability, you are welcome to do so and are not expected to volunteer in any other areas. Being with your child is your only role. If you are able to also double as the class helper, please indicate on the registration form. Class helpers are the second adult in the classroom and are there to help support the teacher by passing out supplies, helping with the other children in the class, etc.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at centralvalleyhsc@yahoo.com for any questions or concerns you have. We will work with you – it is our desire to help your children be successful.
