Statement of Faith

It is important for our members to be of “like mind” and agree with our statement of faith. Please review before applying to make sure we are a good fit for your family.

The Bible We believe the Bible is the only inspired true Word of God. It is the final authority for Christian faith and daily living. We believe the Bible contains sixty-six books and as such there are no extra-biblical texts inspired by God with equal authority with the Bible itself. The Bible is inerrant and infallible in its original manuscript. 2 Timothy 3:14-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Matthew 5:18; Psalm 119

Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and reveals the redeeming purpose of God to the world by convicting the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement. He is the agent of salvation, regenerating and baptizing believers into the body of Christ. The Spirit dwells in each believer, guaranteeing salvation, sanctifying, and empowering for service of all individuals who place their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 16:7-11, Titus 3:5, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 1:13; 5:18, Galatians 5:15 and 5:5, 1 Corinthians 6:11 and 12:4-11, John 16:13)

God We believe that there is only one God, creator of heaven and earth, who exists in three persons  – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 44:6; Isaiah 40:28; Deuteronomy 6:4; Hebrews 1:1-3; 1 Peter 1:1-3

Jesus Christ We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God; fully divine and fully human. In accordance with the Scriptures, He became a man through the virgin birth, lived a sinless life and paid the penalty for man’s sins by dying on the cross. He was raised bodily from the dead as the living Savior and Lord of all who place their faith in Him. We look forward to His imminent return. Matthew 1:20-23; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Peter 2:22-25; John 1:1, 14; Isaiah 7:14; Romans 5:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Colossians 1:13-20

Salvation We believe salvation is a gift, selflessly given by God to all who put their faith in Jesus Christ and His payment for their sins. The salvation of man is a work of God’s free grace by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross. Salvation is not in whole or in part of human works or goodness; it is only received by acknowledging He is God by repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9; Ephesians 1:3-6; Titus 3:5; Romans 8:38-39; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Romans 3:21-26

Marriage We believe Marriage is God’s design and the union of one man and one woman. Genesis 2:18-24; Matthew 19:3-6; Ephesians 5:22-33; 1 Corinthians 7:39
