Opportunities for Middle & High School Students

At CVHSC, we offer meaningful opportunities for students in 7th–12th grade, including engaging classes, friendships, and regular social events designed just for them.

Class Planning:
Our Youth Committee—made up of parents of middle and high school students—plans all middle and high school classes, in conjunction with our class committee, and events. Class offerings vary each session based on what parents volunteer to teach.

You may also check out our Previously Offered Classes page to see what’s been offered in the past.
We welcome ideas from families about what classes they’d love to see, and if a particular subject is requested that no parent can teach, we’re open to hiring qualified instructors when possible.

Dual Location Option for 7th–12th
Families who are fully enrolled at one CVHSC location may have their 7th–12th grade students attend classes at the other location as a drop-off option. Students can attend all day or just for one or two classes in an “à la carte” format. Families only pay class fees at the second location and membership dues at the one where they serve.

This option is only available for students in 7th grade and up.

Serving as a TA (7th–12th)
Students in 7th grade and up may serve as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for one class hour at their enrolled location. It’s a great way to develop leadership skills and contribute to the co-op community.

All families must be fully committed to one location. Please consider your student’s maturity and readiness if they will be attending classes as a drop-off.

Social Events (6th–12th)
The Youth Committee also organizes regular social events for students in 6th–12th grade. Past activities include roller skating, movie nights, game nights, and bowling meet-ups. We welcome parent and student involvement in planning these events and appreciate those who help make them happen.

Youth Lunch Option (6th-12th)
During co-op lunch, students in 6th grade and up may choose to attend Youth Lunch. This supervised time allows older students to socialize and connect with their peers, giving them a chance to take a break from the younger students and enjoy fellowship with one another.

Please note: Sixth graders are not eligible to enroll in 7–12 grade classes.

We’re excited to keep building a strong, connected community for our middle and high school students and their families!
