Grades 7–12 | One Day a Week | Wednesdays
We’re developing a small homeschool hybrid pilot for Fall 2027 as an additional option for homeschooling families in our community.
The program is designed to provide structured academics, mentorship, community, and additional homeschool support while parents remain actively involved in directing their children’s education.
What We’re Exploring
The initial plan is for students in grades 7–12 to attend one day a week on Wednesdays at Dishman Baptist Church in Spokane Valley for a structured day of learning and community.
Students would have opportunities for:
- Structured academic instruction
- Hands-on learning and labs
- Mentorship
- Community with other homeschool students
- Additional academic support
Parents would continue to direct and oversee their children’s homeschooling throughout the rest of the week.
This program is intended to support homeschooling, not replace the parent’s role as the primary educator.
An Extension of CVHSC
The hybrid pilot is being developed as an extension of Central Valley Homeschool Co-op, while offering a different format from our current parent-led co-op.
Our existing co-op programs and locations will continue. The hybrid pilot would be an additional option, not a replacement for our current co-op.
The hybrid would be a Christian program, and participating families would agree to the CVHSC Statement of Faith.
Homeschool Support
In addition to academic support, we want to make some of the administrative side of homeschooling easier for families.
Enrolled families will receive support with homeschool record-keeping and student transcripts, while parents remain responsible for directing their student’s homeschool education.
Our goal is to provide both meaningful academic support and practical resources as families navigate the middle and high school years.
Building the Program
We are currently building our teacher team and working together to determine the classes and structure that will best serve students in a once-a-week hybrid model.
We currently have teachers committed to helping develop:
- Science/Labs
- Writing/ELA
- Spanish
We are continuing to look for teachers interested in:
- Math
- Technology/STEM
- History/Social Studies
As the program develops, teachers will help shape the curriculum approach, hands-on learning opportunities, student expectations, and overall Wednesday experience.
Teachers will be compensated for their time. Specific compensation and program costs are still being determined.

Because this program is still in development, some details have not yet been finalized.
We are currently working through:
- Course offerings
- Curriculum and learning expectations
- What students will complete during the Wednesday program and at home
- Hands-on learning opportunities
- The Wednesday schedule
- Student and teacher expectations
- Program costs and materials
- Homeschool record-keeping and transcript support
We’re intentionally taking the time to build this thoughtfully rather than rushing to fill in the details before we have the right people and ideas in place.
